-
Is your jewelry hypoallergenic and nickel free? Our Jewelry features hypoallergenic & nickel free components (backings, jump rings, etc.). We also use resin to secure certain types of backings. The resin is fully cured under a UV light.
-
Is Polymer Clay Durable?Polymer Clay is extremely durable when baked and processed properly. This takes practice. At Edge of Texas Silver, we have perfected our baking method to ensure our pieces come out durable every single time. Each batch will go through a "bend and drop test" to ensure the highest quality prior to assembling. They can be dropped, bent, or snagged and will not break. Like any jewelry, the jump rings that attach the pieces together may bend slightly if snagged too hard, but they can be easily manipulated back into place with pliers.

How heavy is Polymer Clay Jewelry?Polymer clay is extremely light weight and comfortable to wear. One of the main reasons customers around the globe love Polymer Clay jewelry, is because when you wear them, you may forget they're there (don't worry, others will still see your statement pieces)! They do not weigh down on the lobes, or cause any pain from heavy jewelry weighing on your ears all day.

How are the pieces made?We use our roller machine to condition our clay to the perfect thickness and combination of colors. This also helps with the durability of the earrings as they must be conditioned properly. Once this is done, we carefully select our cut out shapes and then transfer the pieces to be cured in our dedicated jewelry oven. After fully baking, we utilize acetone to buff and smooth out any rough edges, drill the required holes, and finish the pieces with either a matte or shiny varnish. The finished jewelry is then packaged up to ship out to our lovely customers.
